    About the treatment

    What is PRP Hair Treatment?

During a PRP hair treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn, after which the blood plasma rich in growth factors (Platelet Rich Plasma) is separated using a centrifuge. This concentrated plasma, packed with platelets and healing proteins, is then injected into the scalp with fine needles to activate hair follicles and stimulate natural hair growth. PRP is popular among both men and women who want to strengthen their hair, combat hair loss, or improve hair density. Because the treatment uses only the body's own material, the risk of side effects or allergic reactions is minimal. PRP hair therapy is used worldwide as a proven treatment method for androgenetic alopecia (hereditary hair loss), diffuse hair loss, and as support after a hair transplant.

    The procedure

    How does it work?

The PRP hair treatment at Beauty Icon follows four careful steps for optimal results.

Step 1: Preparation Your scalp is assessed and a small vial of blood is drawn from your arm — comparable to a standard blood draw.

Step 2: Centrifuging The drawn blood is placed in a centrifuge that separates the blood plasma from the red blood cells. The result is concentrated PRP, rich in platelets and growth factors.

Step 3: Treatment The scalp is lightly numbed with a local anaesthetic to ensure comfort. The PRP is then injected with fine needles at strategic points in the areas with hair loss or thinning hair.

Step 4: Recovery & aftercare You receive aftercare instructions. The scalp may be slightly red or sensitive, but this typically subsides within 24 hours. You can immediately resume your daily activities. For optimal results, we recommend a course of 3 to 4 treatments at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks, followed by a maintenance treatment every 6 to 12 months.

    What to expect

    What can you expect?

    1

    Before treatment

Prior to the treatment, we conduct a brief intake to discuss your hair loss pattern and expectations. Temporarily stop blood-thinning medications and supplements (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil) at least 3 days before treatment, but always do so in consultation with your treating physician. Avoid alcohol 24 hours before the appointment. Wash your hair on the morning of the treatment with your normal shampoo and do not use styling products.

    2

    During treatment

During the treatment, a small amount of blood is first drawn from your arm. This blood is processed in a centrifuge to separate the PRP. The scalp is then locally numbed for optimal comfort. The concentrated PRP is applied with fine needle injections to the treatment zones. The full treatment takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes and is well-tolerated.

    3

    After treatment

After the treatment, the scalp may be slightly red, sensitive, or mildly swollen. This typically subsides within 24 hours. Avoid washing your hair for 24 hours after the treatment. Avoid intense exercise, sauna, and direct sunlight for 48 hours. Initial results become visible after 2 to 3 months, with hair growth gradually increasing. For the best results, a course of 3 to 4 treatments is recommended.
